

Knud Nielsen, 84, of Gering, died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A graveside service will be 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at West Lawn Cemetery with military rites by the U. S. Air Force. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday December 3, 2008 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Robert Wigert officiating. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. Knud was born in Borglum, Denmark December 26, 1923 to Carl Peter Nielsen and Henny Paulsen Ribbergaard. He served in the Danish Army in 1941 at the age of 18. He came to the United States in 1948 and worked in Dubois, WY in the logging industry and later moved to Lyman, NE where he worked in agriculture. In 1951 he joined the U. S. Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1955. On August 16, 1953 he married Anna Stone of Lyman. They made their home south of Gering where they farmed for many years. Knud worked for and later owned Bradney Trailer Sales. Knud was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose family meant everything to him. Survivors include his wife Anna, daughters Cheryl Morris and husband Tim of Gillette, WY and Vickie Clause and husband Rocky of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Cody, Heather and Justin Morris, Nicole Enriquez, Melissa Mathis, Ryan Clause, Jessica Clark and Zach Clause and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Henny and sisters Ellen Jensen and Kirsten Madison.
