

Larry Gerald Wilhoit, 67, of Scottsbluff, died on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 in a snorkeling accident in Aruba while on a cruise with his wife and good friends. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Mitchell Event Center. Visitation will be Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. Larry was born in Keytsville, Missouri on September 28, 1948, to Glennis Gerald and Mary Helen Wilhoit. He graduated from Brookfield, Missouri High School in 1966. He was a medic in Korea during the Vietnam War Era. He moved to Nebraska in 1970 to pursue a career as a building contractor with his mentor and good friend LaMont Townsend. He continued to work in this field as owner and operator of Wilhoit Construction until his death.
On November 8, 1971, Larry married Beverly Keim and to this marriage four children were born, Juliana Carlson of Scottsbluff, Gregg (Melisa) Wilhoit of Torrington, Wyoming, Lara Wilhoit of York, Nebraska, Kristina (Owen) Williams of Elk Mountain, Wyoming. He enjoyed and loved his nine grandchildren Ryland, Kielan and Brennalyn Carlson, Caleb, Ethan, Jacob, and Luke Wilhoit, and Corbin and Talee Williams.
Larry is also survived by his mother, Mary Helen Wilhoit, two brothers, Don and Jim Wilhoit, father-in-law Franklin Keim, and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Dr. Glennis G. Wilhoit and mother-in-law Martha Ann Keim.
Larry professed to serve God and was a steady light and a faithful influence to us all.
