A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Vine Church of Scottsbluff, officiated by Pastor Craig Collins.
Linda was born on February 1, 1945, in Oakland, California, to Henry Reifschneider and Irene (Commers) Reifschneider. When she was a young girl, her family moved to Bayard and eventually to Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where they made their permanent home.
In September 1963, Linda married the love of her life, Larry Martin. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with family, hard work, and love. They raised three children: Brenda, Brian, and Barbara, and made their home in Gering, Nebraska. Linda and Larry also created many cherished memories at their second home by Lake McConaughy, where they spent many years with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Linda enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including crafting, crocheting, painting, gardening, and canning with Larry. Cooking was her specialty, and she delighted in preparing delicious homemade German food for family and friends. She was well-known for her ability to feed a crowd, famously saying she could make a meal from just one fish, and she never turned away a hungry soul.
Family was truly Linda's greatest joy. She was known as the most loving and devoted mother and grandmother, whose warmth and generosity touched everyone she met.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Larry Martin; her children, Brenda Budler (Clete), Brian Martin (Michelle), Barbara Ross (Coby); her grandchildren, Stefani Dreier (Justin), Shelby Budler, Tyson Budler (Haley/fiancé), Mariah Martin (Jarret/fiancé), Bailey Martin, Lily Martin, Chyann Ross, Jerrick Ross (Kali), Maddison Ross, Caleb Ross (Hunter); her great grandchildren, Nora and Parker Dreier, Charlie Shelton, Kaia Ross; Sister Tami Reichert, brothers Gordon Reifschneider (Kathy), Doug Reifschneider (Denise) and numerous cousins and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Irene Reifschneider. Henry and Mildred Martin/Reib; Henry Reib; and her brother-in-law, Gary Reichert.
