

Loretta Kay Hoffman, 64, of Scottsbluff, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2009, at Calvary Memorial Evangelical Free Church in Gering with Pastors Charles Bonds and Gary Hashley officiating. Interment will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Friends may visit from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. Memorials have been established to the AWANA Ministry and for Cancer Research. Loretta Kay Hoffman, loving mother, grandmother, family member and friend was born August 8, 1945, at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Woodie Mack and Emma (Altig) Giles. She was raise and lived her life here in the valley. She graduated from Gering High School and Western Nebraska Community College. She served in the AWANA Ministry for many years, insuring others knew of their loving heavenly father, Jesus Christ. She lived the final years of her life well taken care of by her niece, Tonya Elsen and the staff of WEL-Life. She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Andrea and Dave Weinert and their daughter, Kara of Casper, Wyoming, Brian and Desiree Hoffman and their sons, Gary, Colton and Jeramie of Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Neal and Jerri Hoffman and their daughter, Heather of Sidney; sister, Lynda Morrison of Terrytown; sister-in-law, Romona Giles of Gering; as well as many other family and friends. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wayne Giles and sister Rhonda Dobbs.
