She received her education in Scottsbluff. Mary Ann was “swept off her feet” by William H. Gable, with their marriage taking place October 5, 1944. Three children were born to this union, Stephen Clark, William Michael, and Cleta. Mary Ann was famous for their family gatherings, served with an abundance of food, (always room for extra,) love, much laughter, and wild card games. Pitch was a regular card game with Mary Ann getting the bid then not knowing which suit to name. She had great compassion for those in need from all the grandkids to those needing a place to stay. With failing health, Mary Ann was blessed to spend her last eight years in her own home with her faithful husband as her caregiver. Mom always loved her children equally and always said, “I Love You.” Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Bill; son, Steve (Jade) of Camp Verde, Arizona; daughter-in-law, Florence of Scottsbluff; daughter, Cleta (Randi) Nuss of Scottsbluff; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Vonie Hatch, Rachael Gable, Carolyn Benson and Arlabeth (Gary) Gable. Preceding her in death were parents; sister, Cleta Mae Smith; brothers, Bill and Dick Outson; son, Mike; and brothers-in-law, Jim Hatch and Ted Gable.
