

Mary Kilthau, 91, of Gering, died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Wel Life in Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Salem Congregational Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel between 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Mary was born February 24, 1916 in Scottsbluff, NE to Jacob and Elizabeth (Weglin) Schlager. She grew up and received her education in Scottsbluff and married Henry “Hank” Kilthau June 17, 1936 in Harrisburg, NE. They farmed and operated K & K Car Wash until their retirement. Mary loved her family, blessing them through loving and caring ways. She loved to prepare meals and loved to have her family members come and share them with her. Mary loved flowers and gardening and was very good about sharing the produce from her garden and the floral fauna. She would always comment about her flower garden and say “Look at God’s beautiful colors”. Mary was a lifetime member of Salem Congregational Church. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Larry R. and Barb Kilthau and Jerry and Jeanie Kilthau all of Scottsbluff; grandsons: Jeff (Angie) Kilthau, Brent (Jill) Kilthau and Bryan Kilthau and fiancé Pam Elliott, Jason and (Debbie) Vesper all of Scottsbluff and Jon (Joanie) Vesper of Anthem, AZ; granddaughters: Wendy Kilthau, Scottsbluff, NE, Kim Ott, Gering, NE, Ronda (Jamie) Argueta, Tucson, AZ, Holly (Nick) Kopeikin, Great Falls, MT, Kerry (Mike) Lichty, and Heidi (Rob) Pszanka all of Highlands Ranch, CO and Dana Kilthau of Littleton, CO; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, daughter Evelyn (Rusty) Vesper; parents; sisters: Eva, Elizabeth, Mollie and Katherine and brothers: Henry, Jake, George, Fred and Phillip.
