

Merna Marie Huber, 77,of Scottsbluff, Nebraska went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 10, 2011, at her home. Her funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Jeffrey Grams officiating. Interment will be 2:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron, Nebraska. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be given to the Festival of Hope. Merna was born October 16, 1933, in Colome, South Dakota to Elmer and Lila (Kyler) Barcus. She received her early education in Colome and completed nursing classes in western Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Mark Huber on October 19, 1949 in Colome, South Dakota and to this lasting union five children were born, Ricky, Marie, Tony, Dan, and Elmer. Merna’s nursing employment included the Chadron Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital in Scottsbluff, and in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She moved back to the Scottsbluff area in 1983. Merna liked to crochet. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She loved her husband of 61 years and all of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be missed by all. Survivors include her husband Mark; daughter: Marie (Robert) Rader of Terrytown, and their children Jason (Kate) Rader and April (Dave) Hessler; son: Tony (Mary) Huber of Tucson, AZ, and son: Dan (Laurie) Huber of Gering, their children; Jenara (Mike Turman, and Dan Huber II; children of Rick (Rose) Huber: Mark C. Huber II, and Ariel (Justin) Derr; children of Rick (Joy) Huber: Noah and Kaden; as well as eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Ricky J., and Elmer L. Huber, and her four brothers Perley, Gene, Paul, and Rex Barcus.
