

Michael D. Carlson, 56, of Scottsbluff, died Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Mitchell. His funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Dr. William Bibb officiating. Cremation will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. A memorial has been established in care of the family. Michael was born February 20, 1953, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to John and Averil (Stratton) Carlson. He grew up in the Mitchell/Scottsbluff area and attended Victory Hill and Sunflower Schools. He graduated from the Sunflower High School in 1972. He worked in the valley as an electrician for over 30 years. He married Connie Clark, September 23, 1973 and they had two children, Grant and Amber. On February 14, 1994, he married Tamie Hale. Michael had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, and being on the farm. Most of all he had a natural talent and passion for music and loved playing his bass guitar with several local bands. Survivors include his wife, Tamie Carlson; son, Grant Carlson of Gering; daughter, Amber Rairigh and fiancé, Doug Ramig of Gering; grandchildren, Lauren and Taylor Rairigh and Mason Ramig; mother, Averil Carlson of Gering; brother, John (Nori) Carlson of Scottsbluff; sister, Janice (Tom) Boender of Story, Wyoming; and three nieces; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Carlson and infant brother, Donnie Carlson.
