

Opal Irene Bramwell, 92 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the Mitchell Care Center. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Michael Stein officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. Opal was born on August 19, 1914 in Morrill, Nebraska to Orla F. and Augusta A. (Rulla) Cooke. She received her education in Morrill, graduating from Morrill High School. She married James Bramwell on August 29, 1936 in Scottsbluff. She was employed at the Scotts Bluff Co. Extension Office as a secretary, then went into business with her husband – Bramwell Transfer Co. from 1937-1942. She worked as a secretary at the Air Base then the Scottsbluff P.O. W. Camp, finishing her career at the First Christian Church for 16 years. Opal was a foster grandparent for several years at Lincoln and Westmoor Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Pioneer Birthday Club, Priscilla Club, 1st Christian Church and church Circle group 2; Royal Neighbors and Rebekah Lodge in Scottsbluff; T.O. B. Extension Club and the Till n’ Tell Garden Club. She worked extensively in her church over 50 years as nursery school group, as deaconces, membership committee and elder emeritus. Survivors include her son Rodney and wife Dyan Bramwell of Claremore, OK; granddaughters Jodene Rohde and Melody Romans both of Scottsbluff; grandsons Michael Bramwell, Casey Bramwell of Claremore, OK and Steven Simicek; 5 great grandchildren Kayleigh, Cody and Dylan Olbricht of Scottsbluff, Jordan and Shylah Rohde of Scottsbluff; great great grandson Alexzander Welsch of Scottsbluff; and brother Clyde Cooke of Denver, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Linda Jackson, brother Floyd Cooke and sister Lorene Cooke.
