
Pearl M. Spencer, age 79, mother of Richard (Kathy) Spencer of Gering and Dennis (Jan) Spencer, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be held Friday, March 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Brad Brauer officiating. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. Memorials have been established. Pearl was born April 29, 1931 in Scottsbluff to Doris Stuckey & Martin Ouderkirk. She graduated from Melbeta High School. She was baptized in to the Christian faith as a child. On July 3, 1949 she married Edwin I. Spencer in Broadwater Nebraska at Messiah Lutheran Church. They were married 47 years. The couple moved to Scottsbluff in 1950. Pearl worked at the Dash Inn and Scotty’s Drive Inn for several years. She retired after 17 years from Woolworths. Pearl was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, a Life time member of ELWC and Royal Neighbors. She joined the Women of the Moose in 1962. She held many offices in Royal Neighbors Local & District. She held offices in the Women of the Moose and qualified for her Top Degree of College of Regent in 1964. Pearl will be greatly missed by Richard & Kathy, Dennis & Jan: brothers Rex (Helen) Tompsett of O’Neil Junction, OR, Gene (Caroline) Tompsett of Elmira, OR & Lee (LaVonne) Tompsett of Madras, OR. Grandchildren: Brian (Betsy) Spencer of Arlington, TX, Kimberly (Brian) Jackson of Broomfield, CO, Heather (Jason) DeWitt of North Platte, NE, Julie (Brian) Korell of Grand Island & Amber (Scott) Earhart of Curtis, NE. Great- grand children: Gracie Spencer, Henry Spencer & Libby Spencer of Arlington, TX; Aubrey, Julie Ellen & Lucy Jackson of Broomfield, CO; Dakota & McConnor Coon of North Platte, Aleesa, Austen & Jake Korell of Grand Island and Jade & Jessi Earhart of Curtis, NE. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Her enjoyment in life was her family. She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their many activates. Pearl always enjoyed playing cards. One of her recent favorite days was when she got to attend a Rockies baseball game. She also recently enjoyed a trip to Denver to see the lighting of the Christmas lights in the Civic Center.
