

Pete T. Vallejo, age 86, of Scottsbluff, NE, entered into rest June 21, 2018 at his home. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Neal Nollette officiating. Burial with military honors by the Nebraska National Guard will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M., with the Rosary recited at 7:00 on Tuesday, June 26 at the church. Pete was born to Guadalupe and Francisca (Torres) Vallejo in Paducah, Texas. He was one of fifteen children of a migrant family that would travel to different states to work in the farm fields; this allowed the completion of his education to the 10th grade but he knew the importance of receiving an education and as an adult received his GED. As a young man, he enlisted in the Army but was honorably discharged due to family hardship.
He married Guadalupe Ibarra on September 26, 1959 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Gering, NE. They made their home in Scottsbluff, NE where they raised their family.
Pete is survived by his wife, Guadalupe, and children, Laura Vallejo of Scottsbluff, Paul (Diane) Vallejo of Tulsa, OK, and Lawrence (Marie DeMaranville) Vallejo of Scottsbluff, NE. Grandchildren Damien, Dominic, Adric, and Briana Blanco, Andrew Vallejo, Lawrence Jr., Anastacia, Braxton Vallejo and Ariel DeMaranville, Great-grandchildren Kamdyn and Emersyn Blanco, Keiran Salas, Rami Bahrani, and Kambry Blanco, brother Ralph (Gloria) Vallejo of Garland, TX, sisters Shirley (Phil) Zamora of Cheyenne WY, Lucy (Mike) Orozco of Gering, NE, Sandy Morales and Josephine Aguallo both of Scottsbluff, NE, sisters-in-law Mae and Donna Vallejo of Alliance, NE and Delia Vallejo of Meza, AZ, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jesse, Bill, Lupe, Rito, Frank, and Carlos Vallejo, sisters Connie Torres, Frances Benitez, and Susan Hessler.
