Ronald ""Ron C. Stricker

Ronald C. Stricker, 75 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Regional West Medical Center. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Salem Congregational Church with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. Ron was born on November 27, 1933 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Carl and Frieda (Benzel) Stricker. He attended Roosevelt, Trail and Haig graduating from Scottsbluff High School in 1952. He was united in marriage to Donna Lou Schlager on December 12, 1954 at Salem Congregational Church in Scottsbluff. Donna passed away December of 2002. Ron was a member of the National Guard from 1954 to 1958. Ron farmed for a number of years, he was a dispatcher for Nash Finch in Norfolk, NE and worked for WNX (West Nebraska Express) and NTC, while he lived in Scottsbluff. He moved to Norfolk, NE in 1992 returning in 2003 to Scottsbluff. Ron was a member of the Salem Congregational Church, where he was a deacon and attended weekly bible studies. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. He especially enjoyed playing golf with his friends. Ron was an avid Husker fan and a Booster of University of Nebraska. He is survived by his son, Bryon and wife, Diane Stricker of Frisco, TX; grandchildren, Jimmy Stricker of Chicago, Ill and Cristine and husband Matthew Thomas and great grandson, Jordan Thomas of Milwaukee, Wis; brothers, David C. and Elaine Stricker of Scottsbluff and Roger L. and Kathy Stricker of Cheyenne, WY; sister, Joyce and Harold Kautz of Gering; brothers and sisters-in-law, Patricia Stricker of Mitchell, Shirley Schlager of Scottsbluff, Ken and Ginny Schlager of Mitchell and Dick and Carolyn Schlager of Arizona ; special friend and companion, Dorothy Steele of Scottsbluff and several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, brother, Donald D. Stricker and parents and brother-in-law, Walter Schlager.
