Vic Dean Bechtold was received into his father’s arms, Tuesday, April 27, 2021, in Gering, Nebraska.

Vic was born to Elaine and Phil Bechtold on August 6, 1958. His early years of life were spent in South Whitley, Indiana. Vic was known for always putting his family first. His family was the most important thing to him outside of his love for Jesus. Vic enjoyed riding his Harley, listening to classic “Rock & Roll” music, and tinkering in his garage. He was an employee for Walmart in Scottsbluff for 13 years, and then for Aulik Industries as a welder for 15 years.

Vic is survived by his beloved wife, Janie, and his daughters, Lupita, Elaine, and Kalie, all of Gering, Nebraska. Vic’s mother, Elaine Haupert, also survives him in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Along with Vic’s mother, his two sisters, Amy (Alex) Haupert-Kulik and Cheryl (Bud) Mallow; brother, Jason (Tonya) Haupert; and numerous nieces and nephews (Caleb, Madeline, Isaac, A.J., Taylor, Brian, and Jeff) all reside in Indiana.

Vic was preceded in death by his real dad, who raised him with unconditional love, Dale Haupert (6-17-2016).

Any memorials may be made to any disabled Veteran organization of the donor’s choice in Vic’s memory.

I grew up with Vic in elementary school in South Whitley, IN. He was a jokester and a funny kid and could always get you to laugh by doing crazy things. After my family moved at the end of my 4th grade year, I lost track of Vic and had no idea he had moved out of state. I’m so very sorry and offer my deepest condolences to Vic’s family. Rest In Peace old friend.
