Carol Lee Herndon

Carol Lee Herndon passed away at her home in Balch Springs on December 20, 2015. She was born in Covington, Kentucky on January 14, 1939 to Charles Gates and Agnes (Fisk) Gates. She is preceded in death by her husband’s Lewis Burkett and Don Austin; son Lewis Eugene Burkett Jr.; son William Harris Burkett grandson Ricky Don Dunn; granddaughter Mary Burkett; sister Mildred Wittenback; sister Marylou Morris and brother Bubby Gates. Left with treasured memories to cherish is her daughter Belinda Dunn & husband Clyde; daughter Mary Dunn & husband Johnny; daughter Debra Dunn; son David Burkett & wife Heidi; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother Alfred Gates and many nieces, nephews and other family loved ones and dear friends. Carol enjoyed maintaining her yard and tending to plants. She also enjoyed doing craft projects. Her favorite pastimes included fishing and watching football games. Carol adored her family very much. Being with her family at gatherings and events always pleased Carol. She was truly loved and will be deeply missed. The family will receive guest at a visitation 6-8pm Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, Texas. Funeral Service will be 2:00pm Monday December 28, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, Texas. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Seagoville, Texas.
