

Dona was born May 2, 1937, in Amarillo, Texas to Agnes Lorraine Davis Deere and Vernia (Cotton) Walter Deere. Dona was raised in Amarillo, Texas and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1955.
Dona married Howard Glen Thomas of Amarillo in 1956, and the couple had 3 children, Tonya, Randy and Dana. She was a homemaker and past owner of Thomas Sewing Center, in Mesquite, Texas, that she operated with her husband and daughter Dana for more than 40 years.
In her spare time Dona enjoyed family, baking, cooking for all the neighborhood kids, reading, HGTV and travel. Her most treasured pastime was spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving mother who was of the belief that family and her Lord were the most important parts of her life. She finished her race well.
Her joys in life included being the big sister to her brother Monte who she deeply loved, numerous travels to many destinations around the world and knowing and serving her many friends and customers at Thomas Sewing Center.
Dona was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Howard (2016) daughter Tonya Turner (2021), brother Monte Deere (2025) and Puppy (2023).
Dona is survived by 2 children, Randy Thomas of Aliso Viejo California, Dana Tidwell of Terrell, Texas, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a very loving and committed extended family.
