She was born on Saturday, July 14, 1956 in Dallas, TX to Fred & Ruby Slayden.
Donna was raised in Pleasant Grove and went to Spruce High School. She married Bruce Weeks in 1980 and they had 1 child together but 4 total from the yours, mine and ours.
She was a Customer Service Representative at Fuji Film where she worked for more than 30 years. Her favorite job, she said many times, was her last job as a House Manager at Community Options where she worked for 12 years.
In her spare time, she enjoyed her family. She loved not just her kids and grandkids but her Lodge kids too. She was ‘Grandma’ Donna to everyone. And as almost everyone knows she LOVED to shop!
Her family and friends will always remember her as kind and loving. She was also very independent, stubborn, and opinionated.
She is preceded in death by her Mother & Father, her husband, a granddaughter, 2 brothers, several Aunts & Uncles, and a nephew.
She is survived by her daughter Christina (wife Micki), son Bruce (wife Sherry), stepson Jason (wife Heather), and stepson Gary; Grandchildren, Haley, Meagan, Tarron (wife Tori), Phillip (wife Anastasia), Randall, Russell, Preston (wife Gabby), Kaylynn, Landon, Emma, KayLynn, Juliann, Kayden, KayLee and Cash; Great-grandchildren, Bentlee, Benjamin, Jazavyis, Scarlett, Mackenzie, Joel, Aubrey, Josiah, and Easton; Her 'God' children, Jazelle, Madison, and Zane; Her brother George; several nieces and nephews; All of her Oddfellow & Rebekah brothers and sisters; and her card buddies.
She was very involved with the Jr. Oddfellows & Theta Rhos. She was instrumental in starting and maintaining both Youth Lodges in Balch Springs. She helped start Youth Lodges in Conroe (Jr's), Paris (Both), and Tyler (first a United Youth Group before helping them get enough to have both a Jr Lodge and a Theta RhoClub). She has helped her home lodges in Balch Springs remain united and committed to working together. She is Associate member in William Tell Oddfellows and Tyler Rebekah Lodges. She is the Past Chairman of the Rebekah Assembly Youth Committee. She is the Past President of the Rebekah Assembly of TX.
