Glenda "Taylor" Clayton

Glenda was a longtime resident of Seagoville. She married JW Hammer on September 16th, 1955 and had four children. She worked for Dal-Tile Corp where she met her former husband John Taylor. Glenda & John were married on March 28th, 1975. Glenda also worked for Marazzi Tile; and loved doing office work for Jones Sand & Gravel. She also worked as a baby-sitter at home for several generations where her true passion was spending time teaching and caring for young babies while treating them just like her very own children, she was known as “Nany”. She had many hobbies and was known for her home-style cooking and famous red beans and cornbread. Glenda was an avid sports fan and loved basketball, a sport she played very well in high school. She didn't miss a game when it came to her Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and the Dallas Mavericks; along with being at every sporting event for her own kids and grandchildren. Glenda loved to garden and shop, but mostly enjoyed playing slot machines at any casino within driving distance. She also loved listening to the local police scanner and was the true crime watcher of her neighborhood in Seagoville. Her greatest pleasures in life were being with her family and being a mother to all. A Baptist by faith, she attended Victory Baptist and Robinwood Church in Seagoville. Glenda will forever be missed as she touched many souls and was truly cherished by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of many years John Taylor, son Ronny Hammer; along with her five siblings.

Glenda is survived by: current husband Regonald “Sonny” Clayton. Additionally, she is survived by children: Pam Tyler of Richardson, TX, Cindy Goswick and husband Randy of Rowlett, TX, Bryan Hammer of Seagoville, TX, daughter-in-law Denise Hammer of Combine, TX, one brother Tom Culver of Kaufman, TX, one sister Joyce Jones of Allen, TX, ten grandchildren; Joscelyn, Eric, Casey, Justin, Jordan, Taylor, Emily, Cory, Cody and Colt, five great grandchildren: Katelyn, Kolton, Cameron, Jordyn and Jayton; along with a host of other beloved family and friends who will dearly miss her.

The visitation for Glenda will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 2:00 PM following with a graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest in the “Garden of Scriptures” next to her former husband John Taylor.

Serving as pallbearers are: Eric Collier, Casey Collier, Justin Hammer, Jordan Hammer, Taylor Page, Steve Davis, Jeremy Hawthorne and Colt Goswick.
