

Margarett Ann (Hickman) Nash, 79, passed away on June 29, 2015 in Rockwall, TX after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on December 15, 1935 to Walter W. and Ruth (Permenter) Hickman in Joaquin, TX. Margarett loved gardening and was known around town for the fabulous flower beds at her home. She also enjoyed ceramics and owned a ceramic shop in the Casa View area for many years and then retired from her job as an accounting assistant with Fina Oil and Chemical. She loved her family immensely and was affectionately known as “Grandma” and “Memaw” to her grandchildren, whom she lovingly babysat until they were old enough to attend school. She was also a dedicated caregiver for her sister, Edith for over 6 years until her passing of Alzheimer’s as well. Margarett was a member of the Casa View Baptist Church for many years and a member of Central Baptist Church for the last 15 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by those that knew her. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Billy McElrath, husband Howard Nash, sister Verna Lee Pickard and sister Edith Rivers Henderson. Those left to cherish her memory are son, Mark McElrath and wife, Cheryl; daughter Tiffany Lowe and husband, Tom; grandchildren Stephen McElrath and wife, Amanda; Brandon McElrath and wife, Katie; Emilee Lowe, Caleb Lowe and Aubree Lowe; great-grandson Eli McElrath; sister Bobbie Shaw and a host of extended family and friends. Family will receive visitors 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, TX. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Central Baptist Church in Crandall, TX.
