

Myrtle Irene Walker (88) went home to the Lord on January 26, 2016. She was born in Avery, Texas on February 28, 1927 to Irl Holloway and Minnie Christine (McPeak) Holloway. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Elton Walker; her granddaughter Angie Wood and 6 siblings. Left with cherished memories is her daughter Linda Morris & fiancé Larry Morisch; granddaughter Debi Paraham & husband Phil; numerous great and great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other family loved ones and beloved friends. Myrtle worked many years for Montgomery Ward in retail sales. After Montgomery Ward, she worked beside her husband, Elton, riding in the truck he drove. When Elton retired from truck driving he opened “The Smoke House”, a bar-b-que restaurant in Scurry, Texas and Myrtle continued to work with her husband in the restaurant. In her spare time, Myrtle enjoyed sewing and doing crafts. She also enjoyed the outdoors, bird watching, farming and tending to her vegetable garden. She was a very independent person. She liked to eat out at Denny’s. She also enjoyed listening to country music especially Waylon Jennings. Myrtle was loved very much and will be greatly missed. The family will have a private burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Seagoville, Texas where Myrtle will be laid to rest with her loving husband Elton in the Court of Valley View.
