Nelda Sue Monk

Nelda Sue Monk age 83 of Dallas, Texas went to be with the Lord Friday, July 15, 2016 in Kemp, Texas. She was born in Waxahachie, Texas on July 12, 1933 to J. W. “Chick” & Margaret Catherine “Maggie” (Bishop) Owen. Sue enjoyed reading, playing computer games, drinking coffee and Dr. Peppers, dancing especially ”Ballroom” to which she and Bob competed in throughout the state of Texas. She also enjoyed it when Frankie would take her shopping, which always turned into an all-day affair. She always loved to talk about her family. During her lifetime Sue was a member of two fraternal organizations, Order of the Eastern Star for many years and she spent over 50 year in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows/Rebekah’s. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Bob Monk and sister Bobbie Lou Funk. She leaves behind to cherish her memory three children, Mike Monk & wife Linda, Kay Monk and Frankie Farrell & husband Gary; five grandchildren Jody, Misty, Damon, Chris and Myles; ten great-grandchildren Rebekah, Rachael, Fisher, Broocke, Garrett, Hailey, McKenzie, Stephen, Levi and Aubrey; one sister Margaret Ann; several nieces & nephews and many from her lodge family.
