Otis E. Vallance

Otis was born on September 9, 1964 in Dallas, Texas to Otis Edward Vallance and Loretta "Rita" Rose Shutza Vallance. He was mostly raised in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas, though he spent a few years in California, as a child.

He married high school sweetheart, Susan Morrison Vallance on February 19, 1987 in Dallas, Texas. They were married for 36 years. Together they would have a family that consisted of four children and four grandchildren, in which were his whole world!

In 1987 he began working with and learned a trade in painting with Fox & Jacobs that would be the start of a continued skill that would prompt him to later begin his business. With that business, he used many of his learned skills to teach his children the benefits of hard work and character, and while not knowing at the time, also teaching an entrepreneurial spirit that would join him in business with oldest son, years later.

Otis not only was a business owner, he was employed with UPS and retired in April of 2018, after 23 1/2 years as part time supervisor in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Circumstances in life with a family member having terminal illness lead him to be a resident of Paris, Texas. This is where he became a member of Ramseur Baptist Church. During his adult life he spent decades serving in churches as a bus director, Sunday School teacher, Youth Pastor and Children's Church Director.

He was preceded in death by his mother, and a child that he was never able to see until after his passing.

He is survived by his wife Susan, oldest son Brad Vallance and wife Diana, middle child and son, Cameron Vallance, and youngest child and only daughter, Gabrielle Vallance. The gender of fourth child was revealed to him when he crossed over in Heaven. Grandchildren include Jocelyn Vallance (14), Tessa Vallance (11), Bradley Vallance (3) and Rose Vallance (19 months). Also survived by father, Otis Vallance and brother, Edward Vallance.

Otis had many things he enjoyed in life, and his main enjoyment was spending time with his kids and grandkids. In his spare time he enjoyed building plastic model kits and yard work, where he loved to maintain a beautiful yard.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday, July 5th at 9:00 am at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville, Texas with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 am. Pastor John Brown of Ramseur Baptist Church in Paris, Texas will be officiating. Also speaking will be Brad Vallance. Graveside service will be adjoining at Roselawn Memorial Gardens immediately following.
