Written in memory of our uncle Charles, who we called, "Uncle Beef".  Never to be forgotten.

My heartfelt sympathies to Charlie's family.  His work ethic and smile were both equally appreciated at court.  After he retired, I enjoyed bumping into him along El Estero Beach.

We have thought of you often since we retired from the Monterey County Sheriff's Department and the Municipal Court.  You were always such a joy to be around.  So good natured and extremely professional in your job.  You were well respected by all those who came in contact with you and will forever be fondly remembered by us and many others who worked with you as "Papa Smurf".  Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.  May you rest in peace, Charlie.

Even though we did not see each other, I always thought of you and your family.  You look so much like my mom.  Aunt Lottie,  I pray the peace of God is with you at this time.  You and my uncle shared many years together, I pray they bring you comfort.  Your neice,  Carmen

Mr. Griffith was a warm wonderful friend and co-worker. He used to always visit us at our place of employment and would keep us entertained with stories of his family. A very caring and giving man, he will be missed.

Deputy Sheriff Charles Griffith was an outstanding public servant. We will miss his smile and companionship. May God be with you. Thank you for your teachings at the Courthouse. Thank you for serving our Country in World War II.
