Emanuel S. Murray

On Thursday, August 6, 2015 Reverend Emanuel S. Murray went home to be with his Lord and Savior. He was 101 years old and attributes his long life to fulfilling the commands as written in Exodus 20:12, “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.” By the faithfulness of God he has been welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven.

Even in the final hours of his life he directed his focus towards praying for others. Pastor Murray still displayed a very active sense of humor as well as continuing to impart words of wisdom to those who visited. His value of family meant having weekly gatherings of which his final moments was of him singing praises to God with his family surrounding him.

He was excited to see his wife June (Huffman) of 72 years who preceded him in death and his little girl Esther who went to be with Jesus as a toddler. He is survived by his children Donna Wright, Floyd & Rosalie Murray, Peggy & Dale Scheff. His two brothers Leon and Bill Murray; his six grandchildren; eleven Great-grandchildren; and 6 Great-great-grandchildren.

Pastor Murray will be at Bayside Community Mortuary, in Seaside for viewing on Thursday, August 13th from 5 to 8 p.m. The Celebration of Life service will be held at Monterey Bay Christian Center, in Seaside Friday, August 14th at 11 a.m.
