Frank G. Deniz, Jr. passed peacefully just weeks after his 88th birthday. Frank was born in Hanford, California to Frank and Emily Deniz. The oldest of three, he was in boot camp as WWII ended and went on to be stationed in Japan with the U.S. Army 58th Signal Corps as a Tech Sergeant from April 19, 1946 to Sept. 20, 1947. In 1949, Frank married Teresa and they had two children. In the late 1950s, the family moved from the San Joaquin Valley to Pacific Grove, Calif. Their children went on to have families of their own, making Frank Jr. and Teresa proud grandparents several times over. Many years later, Frank and Teresa moved to Nevada, where they lived until Teresa’s passing in December 2004, just months before their 56th wedding anniversary. It was at this time Frank returned to California, where he resided in Pacific Grove until his passing. He was preceded in death by Teresa, his parents, his brother Eugene and three great-grandchildren. Frank is survived by his sister, Delores Junio, of Tulare, his children, Delores Ward (Gerald), of Salinas, and Frank Deniz III (Jacolyn), of Seaside, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was a strong man with a larger-than-life personality and had the heart to match, along with his contagious laugh. He will be greatly missed.
