Idelisa “Elisa” Enriquez Valdez left us to be with the Lord at the age of 87. God brought her into this world on December 15, 1932 and called her back on April 3, 2020. She was in her home in Seaside, CA, and surrounded by family just as she wanted. Elisa was born in a small pueblo in Mexico called San Antonio de Los Sauces and is the oldest daughter of Epitacio Valdez and Dominga Valdez Silva.
Elisa and her late husband, Agustin Enriquez, brought their family to the United States to provide a better life for their children. She worked tirelessly to provide for them, persevering through life’s challenges. Elisa was quick to greet every visitor with a warm smile and a bowl of food. Elisa cared deeply for her family and always looked out for their best interest and offered guidance to life’s troubles. She was a resourceful individual, a wonderful mother, an amazing cook and someone that was always willing to help friends and neighbors.
She was a devout Catholic that cherished her church visits. She loved attending St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church to praise the Lord. She loved to read, and you would often find her reading her Bible.
Elisa loved to be outside enjoying the warm rays of the sun, looking at the blue sky and admiring the birds and flowers in the garden. She loved to see all the beautiful colors of her flowers and enjoyed the chatter from the birds. She loved to see her home filled with plants and caring for her birds and fish brought her much joy.
Left to honor Elisa and remember her love are her four children; son, Erasmo Enriquez, and daughters, Teresa Ponce, Blanca Enriquez and Rose Cortes. She also leaves behind six grandsons and ten granddaughters and her brothers and sisters that love her dearly.
Her physical absence will be a painful reminder of our loss, but each memory of her will be a happy reminder that we were blessed to have had her in our lives. May she be at peace with the Lord enjoying the warm rays of heaven warming her sweet face.
Because of the state of the country, no services will be held at this time. A memorial to honor her and celebrate her life will be scheduled at a later date.
