John Leggett Jr.

December 1980 - July 2022

Seaside, California

John Leggett passed away suddenly at the age of 41. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carlee and Albert Barbettini, Andy Leggett, and Mary Vigil.

He is survived by his parents, John Leggett Sr. and Stephanie Barbettini Leggett, brother, Nicholas Leggett, daughter, Julissa, son, John, aunt, Deanna, uncle, Norm and cousin, Kristy.

He was born in Salinas but raised in Seaside, attending Ord Terrace School, King Middle School, and Seaside High School. He was a little league pitcher and became an all star pitcher throughout his playing. He was proud of his pitching.

He worked with his father in his father's business, building and maintenance. Before that he was a forklift driver at various companies and for Indian Motorcycles warehouse. He was very proud of his employment there until they closed.

He was always there for his parents, helping out in any way he could. He drove on many getaways with them, taking his dad to radiation treatments, ran errands, and took them to doctor appointments and was included in decisions.

He loved to BBQ and family trips to Disneyland and Universal Studios. He loved all of the muscle cars that he had throughout life, but most of all he treasured his daughter and son who made him the happiest. His favorite sports teams to watch were the San Francisco Giants, Warriors, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Chicago Bears. He knew all the history of his teams. His favorite sayings were: "you're killing me smalls" and "aiight".

Interment will be private with invited family only on August 15, 2022 at 12:00pm at City of Monterey Cemetery. Reception will follow at VFW in Seaside at 1:00pm at 1666 Fremont Blvd. We are asking those who attend to please bring water or a dessert to share. To protect people's health masks are required.
