I miss your smiling face every time I am at Safeway.  How quickly time passes,  Richard.

Every time I go to Safeway,  and that's frequently,  I think of Richard and his warm greetings.  What a treasure he was!

What an endearing reminder of Richard from Dignity Memorial!  I always looked forward to seeing his sweet, smiling face at work.  

I found the delicate little glass bird statue that he gave me when he graduated, by the way--maybe a lovely souvenir for your little one.

My Dear Richie Rich! I can't even imagine this earth without you. You were one of the few people who made this world a better place. I don't call many people friends, but YOU were such an amazing friend that you became family. When you broke into laughter, no one could keep a straight face, your laugh was so contagious. Your hugs were one in a million and your love was genuine. You were the life of the party, and the best bartender. Your Raiders foam finger will live in history for being the best taunting of rival teams.  Your passion for the Raiders was like your passion for those you loved. They could do no wrong in your eyes. I will miss your hugs, your laugh, and your genuine friendship. You have helped me through some rough times, and because of you, I am a better person.  This world will not be the same without you. Thank you for being my friend, thank you for choosing to be my family, thank you for being YOU!

The first time I met Richie was when I transferred to Prunedale back in 2017, and we did kick our friendship to a great start! We would make the best out of our days at work by doing completely funny things. Probably one of the many funniest times was when we had to wear each other’s jerseys due to one of us losing a bet to one another.  He wore my 49ers jersey (backwards) one year, while I wore his Raiders jersey with a big smile. I will see you again Richie, and I know we’ll have fun once more.

It was a difficult day when I heard of the passing of my good friend. He was more than just a friend, a brother a family member.  The friendship we had was more than I could ever imagine. I will forever miss my friend dearly 

As cousins, our memories are endless - specially how we both love football (though different teams, i respect your choice as you do mine) there is the one close to my heart… our first year arriving to the States is a year of many firsts and on the top of that list is both of us getting chicken pox the same time - we wore our pox marks with pride that Christmas and stuck together like having our own pox club… rest easy my cousin, we will see you again - how much you will be missed by so many specially me. I love you ❤️ 

Richie, it was a blessing to have had you in my life. You had the biggest heart and the purest of souls. I will forever miss you, but you will always be in heart and memories. Thank you for always being there when I needed someone the most Alfalfa! Darla will miss you each and everyday at work…..fly high. 

Ritchie,
I can honestly say that there will never be another Ritchie. I have never laughed so hard and had as much fun as I did with you around. You had the ability to light up an entire room, or backyard, or Raider Game. Awww, the Raiders games. That foam finger. You'll will be missed so much, Rich. Safeway will never be the same. I was truly blessed to of had you in my life, as my co-worker, friend, fellow raider-fan, roommate, most of all my family. We love you, Ritchie, you'll always have a special place in our hearts...   My heart goes out to his family, his son, his fiance, and the new baby. Ritchie was such a special person with a huge heart and so full of life. He's your Guardian Angel Now.

Best laugh ever! If I could make you laugh with my silly hijinks it was a successful day. One day I bring in this baby yoda balloon, knowing Richie loved to talk about mandalorian show, I gave him baby Yoda to keep him company in his office and HE decides to tie it to his kart and walk around the entire store, while doing his normal job duties. Everyone at work even customers got a good laugh, and to me it’s something I’m going to miss dearly, that laughter and smile.

A best friend I will ever have/encounter, the best time at work for me having you Richie was just being there. Maybe we work a little in the process too, but talking about life was something special I will carry with me always. Your Co-Commissioner Jose aka JimmyGstring aka J.B aka J.G aka J.C aka a brotha…..forever a Good Fella. 

Richie, thank you for all the laughs and hugs throughout the years, for always being there to listen, for caring about me and also my family. You will be missed forever my friend..

Richy,psycho D ,not my richie.brotha i still cant believe it....Rich thank you for being a amazing man an showing me the right way.thank you for always being there an looking out .literally lost a Goodfella .may you rest in peace....as i live through these years of my life.....The lord really does take the best of the best.Big bro  LOVE YOU brobro.....crackerjack out.

Richard was one of my most unforgettable English students from Salinas High School.   His warm and friendly smile and his positive and fun-loving nature brightened every day that he was in my class.  (When he graduated, he gave me a "thank you" gift, a delicate little glass statuette--a tiny bird landing on a pink flower on a glass mirror. That exquisite little bird was a special treasure for many years.) 

I always looked forward to seeing Richard at work--his friendly greeting never failed to make that day extra special--a happy reminder of good times then and into the future.
