

Albert DeLoy Blanchard, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, in Issaquah, Washington, at the age of 87.
He was born on May 1, 1938, in Susanville, California. His father, Charles Wesley Blanchard, was 27 years old, and his mother, Oral Smith, was 18 years old. He was raised in the nearby small town of Westwood, California. After graduating high school, Albert joined the Army where he served for three years as a radar operator. He graduated from college from the University of Washington and taught elementary school for 27 years. He married his sweetheart, Mary Ann Blanchard on May 22, 1981.
Albert loved the deaf community and served as the Branch President of a deaf congregation for many years. In 2011 Albert and Mary Ann went on an 18-month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Albuquerque, New Mexico where they served the people living on the reservation in Alamo. He loved his family more than anything which resulted in his passion for family history and temple work. He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and strived to follow the Savior in the way he lived his life.
Albert’s parents preceded him in death as did his two younger sisters. Elaine Nelson, (82), and Lola Schaefer (83), and a daughter-in-law, Mable Blanchard (53).
Albert is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Ann Blanchard; his four sons, Chris Blanchard, Shane Blanchard, Shawn Blanchard, and DeLoy Blanchard; five daughters, Machelle Epperson, Katrina Perez, CaLynda Pula, Amanda Chan, and Kimberly Largent; 8 sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, 28 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
