
Age 78, was born August 23, 1922 in Seattle, WA to Allen and Emma Codling. He passed away June 9, 2001 in Seattle, WA. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Georgia F. Codling; their sons Robert A. and wife Robin Codling, Queen Anne, WA, and Richard M. and wife Karen Codling of Burien, WA; granddaughters: Kelly Catherine and Elizabeth Ann Turner. Also survivng is a great granson Asher Fitzpatrick and a brother Donald E. Codling of Queen Anne, WA.
Allen was a graduate of Queen Ann High School. He attended the University of Washington in the School of Engineering. He was called to serve during World War II in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. Upon his discharge as a sargent,he returned to complete his studies at the U. of W. He owned his own electro-plating business, ''ABC Metal Finishing, Inc.'' in the Georgetown area. He retired in 1987.
Allen was an avid fisherman, always in search of the perfect fishing hole. He was also an outdoorsman and he enjoyed hiking.
Allen was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Zeta Psi Fraternity, Knights of Columbus and he was once Lt. Governor of the Kiwanis International Association.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13, 2001 from 12noon to 8:00pm. A rosary will be said Wednesday at 7:00p.m. at the Evergreen-Washelli Chapel, 11111 Aurora Ave. N, Seattle, WA 98133. A funeral mass will begin time Thurday June 14, 2001 at Our Lady of Fatima 3218 W. Barrett, Seattle, WA 98199. Entombment will follow at Holyrood Cemetery. Memorial donations preferred to the American Diabetes Association.
