Bev was born 4/24/30 and passed away on 11/19/2003 in her home in Mill Creek with her family at her side. A loving Wife, Mother, Mother in law, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister and Aunt who will be so missed by her family and friends. Bev lived in Grandview, WA. until she was 10 and then moved to Ballard. She loved her husband and family above all else. If one were to ask her greatest accomplishment in life, she would say without hesitation it was having raised 5 children. She spent her life loving not only her own children but any child who happened to cross her path, she was lovingly known to many as ?Grandma Bev?. She was a person who loved to travel and would never come home from one trip until she knew where the next one would take her. Bev spent as much time as she possibly could at her and Bud?s summer place on Decatur Head. She had many dear friends there and cherished every moment spent on the island. She loved to have a good time and to be surrounded by those she loved. She is survived by the love of her life, Bud, to whom she?s been married for 56 years. Her children, Sandy Bill Ekse, Bob Judy Askew, Mick Kathy Askew, Budd, and Ron Vicki Askew, grandchildren Ericka Stephen Thielke, Billy Angie Ekse, Natalie, Nicholas, Stevie, and Sam Askew. Great grandchildren Clara and Anna Thielke and Tyler Ekse. Sister Marjorie Wilson, brothers Bruce, Dan and Bobby Johnson. We will all miss her so very much, but she will be with us forever, a person like her never leaves the world without leaving a part of herself in all of those who loved her! The family would like to thank all the wonderful people who have shown all of us such support and love during her short illness. Memorial service Monday, Nov. 24nd, 2003 2:00pm at the Evergreen-Washelli Chapel. In lieu of flowers, she would ask that you donate to Fire District 7, Snohomish County or the charity of your choice.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

Our Mother
When we were young and learning to dream,
she was always there.
She listened and encouraged us
to follow our dreams.
She helped us to become all that we are.
Because she believed in us,
we learned to believe in ourselves.
Our mother ~ more than a woman,
she?s our dearest friend.
Always there when no one else is around.
Always giving of herself
and giving her all.
She was someone that would never
laugh at our mistakes,
for your hurt became hers.
Always standing there beside you,
never in front of or behind you.
As strong as an oak tree,
yet as gentle as a morning rainfall
and as beautiful as a sunset:
everlasting beauty that will never perish
Our Mother ~ We love her so!
