Bobbie Jo Cunningham was a one of a kind woman with passion and love and a spark about her that made me proud to know her! She had a life that spanned the states (she drove an 18 wheeler) and grabbed a crab or two on a boat! Metro was better because of her presence and she was one of the most honest down to earth people that I have ever met. She was fun, funny and wise beyond her years. She may have been white but she had the “soul of a sistah.”
When she was born it was a family event, her family all chose her name, the same if it was a boy or a girl, and thankfully it was the girls name that won. One family outing, when Bobbie Jo was about one and a half years old, was a bowling trip. Her family could not find her. When her brother Roy looked toward the pins he saw her halfway down the alley running toward the pins… (even then she was always going the way she wanted.)
She had always wanted a pony (every child’s dream I think), her dad GOT her one, she rode it once, got thrown and was finished with that pony.
She always was head strong and worked at many professions from a chicken processing plant, cleaning chemical drums and tankers to a crab processing ship and driving an 18 wheeler. (you know, girl stuff).
Bobbie Jo Cunningham is survived by her brother Roy Whitfield, her sister Vickie Feldt, her niece, Karie Reagan grand niece Jaden, grand nephew Dominic and one lone goldfish who had no name, of course her “babies” Romeo, Juno and Hollywood as well as a host of extended family members and many many friends.
Miss Bobbie “Sassy, Vibrant, Strong, Dedicated, Diva!” We love you!
