A woman of warmth, grace, and effortless style, Carrie left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She was born and raised in Spokane, Washington, to William Kenneth Jones and Eleanor E. Jones. She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School before earning her degree in Education from Washington State University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
After graduation, Carrie started working as a flight attendant with TWA Airlines, before transitioning to a long career in retail with Capwell’s in San Francisco, and Nordstrom and Macy’s in Seattle. She touched countless lives with her warmth, kindness, impeccable eye for style, and a knack for making others feel special.
Outside of work, Carrie loved to garden and keep up with all the latest movies and award shows. Her love of animals was a constant thread throughout her life, and she devoted much of her time caring for dogs and cats. Her support and commitment to animal rescue reflected the compassion she showed to all living things.
But it was at the family lake cabin at Newman Lake, Washington, where Carrie was perhaps most herself, sunbathing on the dock with a book in hand, surrounded by nature and the people she treasured most. Her spirit will live there always. The world is quieter without her, but her kindness, her laughter, and her love live on in all who knew her.
Carrie is survived by her sister, Nancy Jones Tubbs and her brother, Kenneth W. Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. Kenneth Jones and Eleanor E. Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Carrie’s memory to the Seattle Humane Society, in honor of the animals she so dearly loved.
