
Charles Hubert Calkins was born to Charles O. and Rosa Calkins on September 27, 1912 in Montreal, Missouri where he was born into a family of 5 children: 2 sisters, Sybil and Mabel both deceased and brothers, Joe and Jack.
Charlie is survived by his wife Dorothy of Bothell, WA; his daughter Judy Glazier of Moxee, WA and daughter Kay Brooks of Granite Falls, WA; 3 grandchildren; one great grandchild and 2 beloved cats, Rascal and Max.
Charlie and Dorothy were together for 53 years. During most of his working life Charlie was in the road construction business and never tired of wanting to show any and all where and what he worked on and helped to build. Highway 405 was one of those projects.
Charlie and Dorothy took many cruises together in their life and shared these fond memories with friends and family.
Charlie was a long time member of the Ballard Elks Club. He was blessed with many dear and close friends who knew him to be a good friend and an honest man who loved people and life and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Remembrances can be made to the American Heart Association. Viewing will be held Thursday, June 5, 2008 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle, WA.
