Chip H. Firth, 66, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 19th. He is survived by his wife, Julie Nakagawa Firth; son, Brent Firth; brother John Firth, sister Susan Dunham (Nathan); and nephews Guy Firth, Nicholas Nakagawa and niece Alicia Firth.
He was born in Snoqualmie, Washington and attended his childhood schools in Carnation, Washington followed by graduating from Eastern Washington University. After working for various companies in finance, Chip was on a team that opened the Washington State Convention Center (Seattle Convention Center) in 1988. He remained with the SCC for 32 years as the Director of Finance and retired in 2020.
Chip was a devoted husband and father who loved his family very much. After marrying Julie in 1984, they settled in Redmond, Washington where they raised Brent. Chip was an athlete throughout his high school years, so it was only natural that he involved himself in the Redmond community by coaching for Redmond West Little League and youth basketball for the Redmond Parks Department. His love was coaching Brent and other youth. Through coaching, he met several families over the years who became life-long friends.
He was easy-going, kind-hearted, and selfless who always saw the good in others. Chip will be remembered for his smile, his laugh, and his genuine interest in others. He always felt blessed raising his family in the Redmond community because of the friendships he made over the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association (heart.org).
