
Age 94, passed away peacefully and with dignity Nov. 16, 2000. He was born Kristoffer Johannesen Furdal on the family farm in Furdal Matre, Aakra Fjord Norway, December 21, 1905. He was dedicated to both his family and commerical-fishing career. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Brita Tveit in 1970. Survived by his daughter Bernice Chouery, her husband Farid; granddaughter Alexis of Seattle and his daughter Carol Guthrie, her husband Jim; granddaughters Brita and Kirsten of Port Townsend; sister Borghild Horne of Seattle; niece Inger Herman and her family of Fall City, WA; sister Johanna Guldbrandsen of Norway and numerous extended family members in Norway. Chris was a member of the Deep-Sea Fisherman's Union, lifetime member of Sons of Norway, Leif Erickson Lodge and Ballard First Lutheran Church. He spent the past 11 years as a resident at the Norse Home where he was well cared for and content. A private family graveside service will be held at Washelli Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be held at The Norse Home, Thursday, December 21, 2000 at 2PM.
