David "Bruce" SARGENT Age 73, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on January 30, 2007, from complications arising from Parkinsons Disease. A native of Seattle, he moved to Arizona in April 2000 to enjoy his retirement in the "Valley of the Sun". Bruce is lovingly survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Grant and Gloria Sargent of Scottsdale, AZ and his niece Janine and her husband, Kris Dawley and their children Megan & Cole of Centennial, CO. After graduation from Lincoln High School class of '51, he attended Seattle University for two years. Bruce joined the Army in 1953, serving 3 yrs. in Alaska Communication Service, and was stationed in Seattle and Alaska. Following discharge from the service, Bruce began working in the bowling industry. He started as a sales representative for several Seattle area bowling supply companies. His many contacts with bowling proprietors led directly to a 10 year "great job" as the Managing Director of the Washington State Bowling Proprietors Association. This period in his life was very important to him. As the proprietor's representative he developed friendships that were to last him throughout his life. Bruce left the WSBPA in 1975, to start his own insurance business, which proved to be both satisfying and successful. Many of his clients operated bowling centers, allowing him to still feel connected to the bowling industry. He retired after selling his business in 1995. Bruce had Parkinson's Disease for more than 30 years. He strove to be independent and live each day to its fullest. He talked frequently of and to his friends, saying that good friends are a true measure of success in life. He measured up well and his many friends will miss him greatly...So long good friend, good night and good luck. Memorial service will be held at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home 206-362-5200 on August 13, 2007 at 10AM. Graveside and reception will follow.
