Dennis Clifford Richter

Dennis was an only son, born to Colleen and Leonard C. Richter on July 12, 1940. His father, Leonard was in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS West Virginia, stationed in Hawaii. On December 7th 1941 Leonard gave the ultimate sacrifice to the service of his country during the attack on Pearl Harbor. This left Dennis as a gold star orphan at 17 months old. Dennis held a deep everlasting respect for his father throughout his life. He cherished photos and memories of his dad on many occasions in a very proud fashion. Dennis lost his mother at a very young age and was raised primarily by his grandparents Gladys and Nolan Yarian. During this timeframe he was a military brat living in California, Arizona and finally settling in Seattle in the mid 50's.

In 1958 Dennis met and married Scharlene McClain and together they had a daughter Carrie in July 1959.

In December 1966 he married Shirley Altmayer and her 5 children Douglas, David, Kenneth, Tammy and Gary. In June 1967 they had a daughter Karen.

Dennis is survived by his wife Shirley, Children Doug, Kenny, Tammy (Bob), Carrie (Brad), Gary (Carol), Karen (Tracy), 17 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and his very spoiled dog, Molly.

He was preceded in death by his Son, David in 2012.
