“Been there, done that.” That was Diane Berger’s humorous summary of her full and wonderful life. She passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, just two weeks shy of her 94th birthday. Raised in Spokane, Diane graduated from high school at 16 before moving to Seattle and obtaining a BA degree in art at UW. It was around then that she met the love of her life, Jules, beginning nearly 70 years of marriage and adventures together. They raised three daughters, Sheryl, Terri, Barrie, and many beloved dogs. She possessed a vast knowledge across many subjects, a sharp wit, stylish presence and was a master at the mahjong table. Sports were a lifelong passion. She rarely missed watching a Husky or Seahawks game, Super Bowls and major golf tournaments. She and Jules traveled extensively, returning with stories and anecdotes they joyously shared with friends and family. Diane loved summer trips with the family to Cannon Beach, and her role as lead garlic peeler in the annual pickle making tradition. On occasion, Diane was known to enjoy a perfectly mixed vodka martini. She’ll remain in our hearts forever. Private services were held.
