Relationships meant the world to Don… He was a wonderful son, grandson, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, husband, son-in-law, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, fraternity brother, army buddy, employer, insurance man, colleague, golf partner, significant other, and friend. Born May 31, 1924, in Omaha, Nebraska; Departed June 27, 2016, in Seattle, WA, peacefully and with dignity at home with family. Don lived a wonderful life fully, retaining his keen mind, only slowing down in the last few months of his 92 years – what he referred to as “reaching the end of the line.” During his last month, he was under the care of Providence Hospice and domestic partner Daisey Chancey, made comfortable at their home in Glen Acres, fading gradually and on his own terms. Many family and friends were able to visit. His passing was the end of a generation – as he was the last of seven siblings. He outlived most of his contemporaries, and had said many farewells. He is survived by immediate family consisting of daughter Jessica Ann (“JayAnn”) Hart Sanchez; son Daniel Randolph Hart; and daughter Paula Hart Pripusich. And grandsons Ignacio Hart Sanchez, Xavier Hart Sanchez, Donald Hart and Daniel Hart. And great granddaughter Okalani Sanchez. He is well loved and will be greatly missed by family and countless friends and associates, particularly fraternity brothers at Lambda Chi, insurance colleagues at Blue Goose, past clients of his business Allison Agencies, and golfing friends at Glen Acres Golf & Country Club.
As a Master Sergeant veteran of WWII, he will receive military honors. Interment at adjacent Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, where he will rest next to his wife of 47 years and mother of his children, Helen Kunas Hart. Don liked to joke: “No one living within six miles of Mount Pleasant is allowed to be buried there.” (Because still living!)
