Erluendo (Erwin) Y. Ortiz, 64, passed away peacefully, September 9, 2014, in Edmonds, Washington, while resting comfortably with his family by his side. He was born February 23, 1950 in Cebu, Philippines, but has been a resident of the Seattle area for 36 years.
Erwin enjoyed being a cook for his entire life and enjoyed sharing good food with his family and friends. Erwin loved singing Karaoke with friends and once serenaded his future wife, Sally Shavey with a proposal of marriage in front of a large crowd, where Erwin was cooking. Erwin enjoyed laughing and joking. When he was among friends, they all new he would make them laugh. Erwin had a huge heart and always welcomed the kids of the neighborhood and made sure everyone had a good meal.
Erwin was preceded in death by his mother, Dativa Yap Ortiz and his father, Ernesto Ortiz, Senior. He is survived by his wife Sally Sue Shavey, 4 sons, Ervin Louie Ortiz, Ernesto Ortiz, Ermundo Ortiz, Erwin (Win Win) Ortiz, 2 granddaughters -Erica & Erin Ortiz, brother Eric Ortiz and a niece Annaleis Ortiz and many extended family and friends.
Erwin will be forever loved and forever missed and in our hearts forever.
