Boy did Evie love her people. In the short time I knew her I felt like I’d met the kids she nannied, her brother Bruff, her friends in Seattle and her family back home. Her love for these people was utterly sincere, genuine and limitless. Evie was fun, funny, well-read, well-travelled, stylish, gorgeous and charming. My sincerest condolences to all her friends and family. Evie, deep peace of the earth to you.

My last message here was more about my love for Evie and the great loss I was feeling.  Now I am remembering Evie's free spirit and the things she loved so much.
Evie loved being a nanny and she loved the children she was nanny for. She posted many photos of her time with them.
She loved The Flaming Lips. For two years she had her body painted by an amazing artist and then rode a bike in a parade of sorts with that very band.
She was very proud of her extended family.  I remember the movie her brother Christian (?) received awards for and encouraged everyone to watch it. Yes, it was incredible. She was so proud of Bruff and his accomplishments and of course she was proud of her father's published books.  Rest in peace my friend.

I wish that I had kept all the photos that Evie had sent me.  I wish she had visited me.  The last time we spoke she had planned to fly out with a friend and stay for a week, but once again life interfered and she had to appear in court to testify against someone who had hurt her.  
Wishes are worthless but my broken heart keeps thinking of those missed visits.  I loved Evie as I love Bruff and loved Victor. Evie will always hold a place in my heart.  
I am so sorry Bruff. I never met your Mother but I understand the depth of the grief you both are shouldering. Please stay in touch.

Evie and  I met working together at Canlis we became friends instantly. 
We went snowshoeing together she saw me through all of my life milestones. She was with me through thick and thin through boyfriends and getting married and having kids and getting through a divorce, and I loved her so much and I will cherish all of our memories. she was a wonderful friend and human being. I will miss her so much. There are no words to describe the sorrow that I have in my heart. I love you, Evie.

I'd like to offer my condolences. It can't be easy what you're going through, but the Bible has many verses that can comfort you. And this doesn't surprise us: “For all the things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction,f so that through our enduranceg and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope”. (Romans 15:4).
Look at the encouraging words the Bible gives us: “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted;
He saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Many are the hardships of the righteous one,y
But Jehovah rescues him from them all”. (Psalms 34:18,19).
God is with us especially when we are sad and encourages us through his Word.
