
Devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, born May 16, 1921 in Rastatt, Weisbaden, Germany and passed away, into the arms of Jesus, December 1, 2003 in Seattle. Fritz came to the U.S. in April 1928. He was raised on a dairy farm near Spokane, WA and he graduated from Cheney High School in 1940. Fritz worked at Eastern State Hospital for two years as an assistant landscape manager in summer and a psychiatric attendant in the winter. Fritz entered the Army in 1942 and was an x-ray technician for 39 months. He met Hazel, his beloved wife, in Shreveport, Louisiana, where they fell in love and married in 1944. Their daughter, Christine, was born in 1945. Fritz was discharged from the Army in 1946 as a Sergeant. Afterward he worked as a jackhammer operator and in other general construction areas at Geiger Air Force Base near Spokane. Later Fritz worked for his brother, Albert, in his hotel in Wenatchee, WA. John, his son, was born in 1949. Fritz graduated from Wenatchee Junior College with an AA Degree in 1950. In 1951 he moved his family to Seattle and entered the University of Washington where he graduated with a BA Degree in Accounting in 1953. Fritz began work for Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company in 1953 as a junior accountant, and retired as an accounting manager in 1983. Fritz was actively involved with his church where he served as a deacon, assistant treasurer, treasurer, intercessory prayer leader and a Bible studies leader. His hobbies included landscaping, refinishing old furniture, working with his tools and woodwork. Fritz enjoyed traveling with his family and friends, and taking photos of their travels. Fritz will be remembered by his friends and family as a kind, hard-working and fair-minded man. He had a dry sense of humor that could brighten the grayest day with laughter. Fritz embodied the true characteristics of a gentle Christian spirit and his love was unconditional. He was a generous man and was always willing to help those who needed him. Fritz?s life of devotion to his wife and family, and his Christian love and mercy will continue to be an influence and an example to all who knew him. Fritz is survived by his wife, Hazel, daughter Christine, son John, daughter-in-law Joni, grandchildren Laura, Joel and Joanna, and great-grandson Sam. We will miss you Fritz, Dad, Grandpa, Pa Pa, but your memory will live in our hearts forever.
Memorial service will be Saturday, Dec. 13th, 2003 2:00pm at Bethel Lutheran Church, 17418 8th Ave. NE, Shoreline, WA. In lieu of flowers memorials to Bethel Lutheran Church of Shoreline or Lutheran Compass Center.
