

Born on September 4 1922 in Cashmere, WA, he passed away peacefully May 25, 2014 at age 91 in Seattle. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean, father August Schilling, mother Minnie, and sister Rose Snow. He is survived by his daughter Donna Hosmer, son-in-law Randy Hosmer of Naperville, IL, son Mark, daughter-in-law Tamsyn Schilling of Seattle, and two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Robin Hosmer.
Glen grew up in the farming community of Myrtle, Minnesota and shortly after graduating from high school in Albert Lea, MN he was drafted into the Army. He served during WWII across Europe in the 3187th Army Signal Battalion. Upon returning to the Pacific Northwest following the war, he earned his degree from Eastern Washington College and went on for several years to manage sales districts for the Americana Corporation and Encyclopedia Britannica. After settling in Seattle's Green Lake neighborhood, he transitioned to a new career appraising real estate for the King County, WA Assessor's Office. In retirement Glen and his wife traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally.
Glen was a member of the VFW, a brother at the Green Lake Masonic Lodge, and served for years as an officer on the Green Lake Community Council. Glen truly enjoyed meeting people in any setting and developed many, many friends and acquaintances everywhere he went.
He will be missed by all.
