

Born on November 11, 1925, to Edith and Ralph Marshall of West Seattle. She was the first of five children, growing up alongside her siblings Stan, Shirli, John, and Ron.
A graduate of West Seattle High School, Gloria went on to work briefly in Anchorage before attending Whitman College. In 1950, she married Paul Swanson, beginning a partnership that would last the rest of their lives.
In 1963, Gloria and Paul moved to the Los Angeles area, returning to the Northwest in 1989. Throughout their lives, they were devoted members of the Free Methodist Church, faithfully serving in many capacities.
Gloria took great joy in her involvement with the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Mayflower Society. She carried a deep love for her country and was proud of her heritage, embodying the spirit of a true patriot.
Above all, Gloria loved Jesus, and she shared that love freely with everyone she met. On November 10th, just after 6 p.m., she went home to Heaven.
She is deeply missed by her daughter Marlys (Robert), her sister Shirli Strong, her grandson Daniel (Kaelee) great-grandchildren Preslee and Karson, and her many nieces and nephews.
A graveside committal service for Gloria will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home & Cemetery, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, Washington 98133.
