

Helen Idella Hansen was born July 12, 1926 in Wendell, Idaho to Fredrick Edward Hansen and Ida Elizabeth Phillips. She was the last child born out of 7 children. Helen passed away on January 30, 2017 about 5 pm Pacific Time at the Hallmark Care Center in Federal Way, Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Nelson, and her son Anthony Neil Nelson all of her siblings: Francis, Pete, Harve, Blanche, Allan, and Alice. Helen was married to Lloyd Hans Nelson at the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on August 18, 1943. She was 17 years old. They had 6 children: Terry Lloyd, Anthony Neil, Marsha Diane, Eddie Warren, Timothy Bruce, Angela Sue. Helen said she didn’t want to have children until she was 21. Terry was born when she was 21 ½ years old. Helen was 34 when her last child Angie was born in 1960. Her Husband Lloyd was drafted into the army in 1943 and she was able to go with him to some of his duty stations before he went to Europe and also when he got back after the war. While her husband was stationed at San Luis Obispo, California she had to get a note from the High School there before being able to work because she was under age. Lloyd and Helen made their home in Wendell, Idaho until 1962 when they moved to Seattle. Helen worked at Boeing in the wiring shop until she retired in 1988. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 200 S. 177th Pl., Burien, Washington, with the burial to follow in Riverton Crest Cemetery, 3400 S. 140th St., Tukwila, Washington.
