Jeanette Lindenburg Fleckman died Sunday, June 2, 2002, in Seattle, Washington. Ms. Fleckman was born in England, Arkansas on October 9, 1912, daughter of Abraham Lindenburg and Sarah Dante Lindenburg. She attended public schools in England and The University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Fleckman returned to England to teach school for a short time before moving to Lake Charles, Louisiana where she met her husband, Max Fleckman. They married and moved to Port Arthur in 1939, where her husband and his brother founded Fleckman Lumber Company. Ms. Fleckman was an avid rose gardener and collector and student of antiques, an excellent contract bridge player and a wonderful mother and devoted wife. She is survived by her two sons, Dan and Philip, and her five granddaughters, Julia, Sarah and Emma Fleckman and Mahri and Morgen Leonard-Fleckman. A memorial service will be held in Ms. Fleckman?s honor on Monday,11am on June 10 at the Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism, 801 Bering Drive, Houston, Texas 77057. In lieu of flowers, Ms. Fleckman?s family requests that donations be made in her name to MD Anderson Cancer Research Center or Listen and Talk, Education for Children with Hearing Loss, 20302 Bothell Way NE, Bothell, WA 98011.
