She is survived by her four children, Deborah (Robert) Darms, Kathryn (Patrick) Miller, Gregory (Cynthia) Anderson, and Randall (Elisa) Anderson along with 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Joan lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen D. Anderson, after 58 years of marriage, as well as her sister, Evelyn F. Myers.
Joan grew up in Tacoma, then graduated from Wenatchee High School and went on to attend Washington State University, and she’s been a dedicated Cougar fan ever since! She then moved to Seattle where she met her husband on a blind date and seven months later they were married. After staying home to raise her four children, she joined the workforce when her youngest started kindergarten. She worked various jobs before settling in at Seattle Municipal Court as the Administrative Assistant to the Probation Director. She retired after happily working there for 25 years.
She found immense joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a source of love and happiness in her later years. She also enjoyed gardening, camping, genealogy and decorating for many of the holidays.
A woman of gentleness and strength, Joan touched the lives of countless people throughout her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and family dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
