Joanne Shizue Fujimura, 87, passed away on June 29, 2025. She was born on Nov. 5, 1937 in Seattle, WA and was delivered by her grandmother who was a midwife. She graduated from Garfield High School. She often shared that Quincy Jones and Jimi Hendricks were classmates of hers in high school. Joanne married Yoshio Fujimura on April 21, 1962. They were married for 52 years (Yoshio passed away in Jan 2014). They raised three children in Renton, WA: Stacey Fujimura, Steven Fujimura (Maki), Pamela Gargett (Mark). She had 6 Grandchildren: William Takano; Yuuki, Shoma & Kai Fujimura; Joshua and Isabelle Gargett.
A Viewing will be held from 10 am until 8 pm on Wednesday, August 6 at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home.
