Our adored and revered fast-pitch softball pitcher was called up to the big show on Friday the 13th. His legacy remains in our many local buildings that he supervised as building construction estimator for Wright Schucart Harbor. John leaves behind a multitude of friends and fans and a loving family?wife of forty years, Joan; son and daughter ?in-law, Brent and Paula Olmstead; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Steve Wiper; grandchildren, Giuliana, Giustin, Mac and Kate; mother, Virginia Olmsted of St. Ignace, Michigan and brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Zoe Olmstead also of St. Ignace, Michigan. A memorial mass will be held Thursday, September 19, 2002 at 11:00am at St. Michael?s Parish, 1512 Pine Ave. Snohomish, WA. Donations may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation, Lymphoma & Leukemia Society.
