
passed away peacefully at home on 12-22-01 following a long struggle with liver disease. He is preceded in death by his mother Inez and father Jimmy Wakely, legendary singing cowboy. Born 1-29-44 in Hollywood, CA, Johnny enjoyed a charmed and star-studded childhood growing up around people of the silver screen. He performed as a musician with his father and sister Lindalee for many years throughout the country. He made his way to Seattle in 1984 where he formed his own band and shared his musical talent at a host of clubs. Johnny traded his guitar for a career in medical transcribing in 1995. His quick wit, warped sense of humor, and teddy-bear hugs will be missed by his loving wife Nancy, son Robert, daughters Wendy Johnson Doug, Tammy Nelson Lee, grandchildren, James, Jessica, Brittney, Nicholas, Jacob, Lindsey, sisters Deana Mayer, Lindalee Wakely, Carol Carowan and a host of friends that Johnny called ?family?. Johnny publicly declared his deep love and acceptance of Jesus as his personal Savior through Baptism in April of 2001. A celebration of Johnny?s life will be held Saturday 12-29 at 1:00pm at the Shoreline Free Methodist Church 510 NE 175th St. Memorials can be made to Hepatitis Foundation International-30 Sunrise Terrace, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009-1423.
